Welcome to the website for my Medieval Study classes: 1450: Heroes and Villains, and an as yet unnumbered course called Medievalism Dance.
Medieval Studies 1450: Heroes and Villains is a team taught course between myself and Marca Hoyle. Spanning one thousand years, Medieval 1450 is a survey course, an hors 'douerve. Focusing on literature, context is provided with articles, lecture, and lecture. Previous literature included "Yvain the Knight with the Lion," "Beowulf," and "The Canterbury Tales." Medievalism Dance is an exploratory course in which students learn to study the Middle Ages using cross cultural techniques. Students have the opportunity to choose materials that interest them from both modern and historical sources, and doing research to explore how we view the medieval period now and what the medieval period probably was, and why there is a difference. |
